Tensile strength: 1493 MPa, elongation 10%–20%. Production of 0.15mm diameter wire through powder metallurgy and melting-pressing process. Iridium wire is used for high-temperature oxidation-resistant thermocouple materials and filament materials. Ir-W thermocouple E2200℃ = 44.19mV. The relationship between thermoelectric potential and temperature is nearly linear between 1000–2000℃, but it can only be used in neutral atmospheres or vacuum conditions.
