Carbon felt, when subjected to high-temperature treatment at temperatures exceeding 2000°C in a vacuum or inert atmosphere, transforms into graphite felt, with a carbon content of over 99%. Graphite felt not only possesses the high purity, high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and non-melting properties characteristic of bulk graphite but also offers elasticity, foldability, cutability, and the ability to be sewn with graphite yarn. Graphite felt finds its primary application as insulation and refractory material in single crystal silicon refining furnaces. In the chemical industry, it serves as a filtration material for high-purity corrosive chemical reagents. Graphite felt can be used at temperatures of up to approximately 3000°C under non-oxidizing atmospheres.

Imported graphite carbon felt is obtained from polyacrylonitrile-based carbon felt as the base material, which undergoes special high-temperature graphitization treatment. It exhibits outstanding properties, such as lightweight, high carbon content, resistance to corrosion, high burnout resistance, high purity, no volatilization at high temperatures, low thermal conductivity, and no deformation at high temperatures. It is an excellent insulation material for high-temperature vacuum furnaces, particularly suitable for single crystal furnaces.
